A group of student veterinary nurses from Boxhill Institute, Centre for Biotechnology and Animal Sciences, Melbourne, Australia visited Newmarket and The Open College of Equine Studies as part of their English Study Tour.
TOCES Veterinary Nursing graduate, Tina Walker RVN, provided an informative guide and tour of the Animal Health Trust where she is employed within the Equine Centre. The students then enjoyed an educational tour of Rossdales Equine Hospital conducted by another TOCES VN graduate, Veronica Brandel RVN.
TOCES Veterinary Nursing Programme Manager, Leonie Lawson, gave a presentation about the UK Equine Veterinary Nursing qualifications and the training options available.
This is the second time students from Boxhill Institute have visited The Open College of Equine Studies as part of their educational two week study tour which includes visits to centres of excellence around England. The Study Tour concludes at the British Veterinary Nursing Association Annual Congress in Telford, Shropshire, where the students will have the opportunity to attend dedicated professional development lectures and the veterinary nursing trade exhibition held over three days.
